New Racing Authority to hold meeting Aug. 23

The Maryland Thoroughbred Racetrack Operating Authority, created via legislation this spring, will meet Wednesday, Aug. 23, to handle general business and host a presentation from the Maryland Stadium Authority.
The meeting, to be held at the MSA office in Baltimore, will begin at 12 p.m. According to a public notice, the in-person meeting will also be accessible online and by phone. The video link is http://meet.google.com/qmg-dmba-rmx. The call-in number is 1-321-805-3659 (PIN 420 438 282).
Along with a presentation from the MSA, which has been involved with Thoroughbred racing in the state as part of the Racing and Community Development Act of 2020, the MTROA will discuss IT issues, adopt bylaws and take public comments, according to the agenda. Its next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8.
