Nominations Sought For 2024 Backstretch Employees Of The Year
With the consolidation of all training operations at Laurel Park given the closure of Pimlico Race Course for the redevelopment project, the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association will recognize one member of the backstretch community.
Trainers and owners are encouraged to submit nominations to MTHA the staff, preferably before the Christmas holiday. To submit a worker to be considered email their name, position and a summary of why they deserve this award to info@mdhorsemen.com.
The MTHA each year celebrates the contributions of those who work with our Thoroughbreds each day in the stable area.

Timonium concluded its seven-day race meet Monday, with Anthony Farrior and Robin Graham each earning $5,000 awards from the $20,000 Timonium Trainer’s Bonus program. The meet, which opened August 28, featured 58 races and a memorable upset by the Pedro Nazario-trained For the Ladies in the $75,000 Shine Again Stakes.
