MTHA Congratulates Jamie Ness on 4,000th win
Jamie Ness, whose horses have earned almost $80 million since he began training more than 20 years ago, collected the 4,000th victory of his career when Sing Scat won the first race at Laurel Park Sunday, July 16.
Ness, who is stabled at Laurel, Delaware Park, Parx Racing and the Fair Hill Training Center, was joined in the winner’s circle by supporters including Morris Kernan Jr., with whom he owns many horses. Another prominent partner, Yo Berbs, also co-owns Sing Scat.
True to form, Ness collected win No. 4,001 with his next starter when Starship Laoban, owned by the trainer and Kernan, won the third race at Laurel.
In 2022 Ness had his best year by wins and earnings with 326 and $10.3 million, respectively. Earlier this year in New York his trainee Repo Rocks won two Grade III stakes and finished second in the Grade I Carter Handicap.
