MEDSTAR Doctors Available During Break

During the summer break in live racing at Laurel Park, MedStar Health physicians who staff the Maryland Horsemen’s Health System will be available on a limited schedule. The summer meet at Laurel wrapped up Friday, June 29, with the doctors working a normal schedule.
Dr. Jason Pothast will be available in the MTHA office in the Laurel grandstand Friday, July 11, from 1-4 p.m. Dr. Kelly Ryan will be on hand Thursday, July 24, from noon to 4 p.m. Laurel will be open for simulcasting on its regular schedule during the dark period, so the MTHA office can be accessed through the grandstand.
It is recommended that those who wish to see a MedStar doctor schedule appointments so the doctors have an idea of how many people plan to visit the office. Contact members of the Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association staff for further information.
As usual, a doctor will be available on racing days at the Maryland State Fair at Timonium meet, which runs from Friday, Aug. 22, through Monday, Sept. 1.
