The next Maryland Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association Board of Directors meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 20 at 10:30am.

Services have been scheduled for Vincent “Jimbo” Bracciale Jr., a nationally recognized jockey who spent the majority of his distinguished riding career in Maryland before transitioning to training in the early 1990s.

Laurel Park will offer 25 stakes worth a total of $2.8 million from January through April highlighted by a pair of $200,000 sprint fixtures and two $150,000 events for 3-year-olds that offer guaranteed spots in the Preakness Stakes and Black-Eyed Susan Stakes.

On the backstretch, you learn to listen for the quiet signals. The horse that still tries, but isn’t quite the same. The one that comes back a little stiffer, a little slower to bounce back. The one your groom watches a little more closely at the end of the day.

The MTHA is proud to stand alongside THA, TOBA, TOC, and KTA in a unified statement addressing HISA’s proposed modifications to the Anti-Doping and Medication Control Program.
